AFRICA – NYANZA PROVINCE MISSION

Glory Outreach Assembly out of Kenya reports:

The mission in Rongo and surrounding villages continues. As of Friday, 700 have accepted Christ, and there are still 2 days remaining! REVIVAL has broken out! International Leadership Training began for 24 pastors and church leaders from 16 denominations on Thursday, small teams of 3-4 are moving each day from door to door evangelism, crusades are occurring each night, and a free medical camp was held for 3 days. GOA team members described the Luo people in Rongo as very hungry and thirsty for the Truth of Jesus Christ.

One pastor said, “When you are fishing, you have to look for the right place to throw your line, and sometimes you miss. Here, it’s like the fish are all standing in plain sight on top of the water saying, “PICK ME! PICK ME!

The mission occurred at a crucial time. People have finally gotten tired of the witchdoctors and the deaths occurring from clashes with the Gusii people. One Luo woman gave 2,000,000 Ksh ($2,817.00) to a withdoctor to cure a congenital condition of her daughter. Another Luo woman said people are “fed up” with the lies of the witchdoctor, and with the clashes with the Gusii, people are in a crisis of faith and are searching for answers. The answer is Jesus Christ and they are receiving Him.

Polygamy is very common in this area. Christians are still struggling with what is normal and good in their culture, with what Scripture tells them. When a polygamist husband becomes Christian, he cannot send away his other wives and children, because they would experience great social hardship and poverty. Please pray for the Christian leaders in this area who are grappling with this very difficult issue. Let us all continue to Pray to our Lord Jesus Christ who will direct the leaders and the people in what they should do as they follow Christ.

PRAISE GOD FOR THIS GOOD REPORT AND THE
SOULS COMING IN TO THE KINGDOM.
